That the Chinese government has its hand in all Chinese national and multinational companies should caution folks to not make this a racist stereotype; that Beijing, and specifically the CPC, is an investor in all businesses in some form or another—part ownership, investment, or even specific regulatory favoritism. The behavior of said investor is no different than Google or Facebook's behavior once they've acquired a property. It's just business.
